About IASN

IASN is the only statewide network exclusively dedicated to serving and representing the needs of Iowa’s long-term care facilities.

 

Members have access to resources, contract review and negotiating services, utilization reports and scoring that shows how their facilities rank both statewide and nationally. These factors add up to increased temporary and long-term occupancy and income.

 

Our mission is to maximize the health and well-being of seniors in its member communities through innovative, cost-effective care management practices and quality improvement activities through contracting relationships with health plans and health delivery systems so members can better serve Medicare and Medicaid enrollees.

Meet our Team

Carolyn Roten

Carolyn’s more than 20 years of experience in health care include serving as the Director of Business Development for a large health care network where she presented and negotiated contracts with managed care organizations and working in the health insurance division of a national insurance carrier. As a Partner with Strategic Health Care, Carolyn provides managed care contracting services to a broad spectrum of health care providers. She holds a degree with honors from Franklin University in Business Administration.

Arlene Jaroscak

Arlene Jaroscak is the President of Innovative Long-term Care Advisors, a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Registered Nurse, Clinical Consultant, Conference Presenter, Speaker, and Author. Arlene received her Bachelor’s Degree in Long-term Care Administration from St. Joseph’s College of Maine and is a member of the Leadership Lorain County Class of 2009. As the Vice President of Network Management & Quality at Strategic Health Care, Arlene works with multiple post-acute care networks.

Grant Swemba

As Director of Post-Acute Contracting and Alternative Payment Initiatives at Strategic Health Care, Grant brings over 20 years of comprehensive post-acute care knowledge across multiple service domains including skilled nursing, assisted living, home health, hospice, outpatient rehabilitation, and adult day care. His financial and operational contract development expertise is focused on building sustainability and ensuring that mandates are met. He offers essential knowledge vital to the development of effective alternative payment initiatives, including value based reimbursement and pay for performance models focused on quality outcomes and reduced spending.

David Driver

In his position as a Healthcare consultant with over 35 years of experience in the healthcare field, David works closely with the Strategic Health Managed Care Team to develop Managed Care Networks for pre- and post-acute providers in the Midwest.  Prior to joining Strategic Health Care, David worked in the hospital sector for Ohio Health as an internal auditor and then the Director of Finance for the Hospice and Homecare Divisions.  He went on to serve as the CFO for Wexner Heritage Village earning an Honorable Mention as the Business First CFO of the Year in 2013.  David spent his last two years of his career as the Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning for National Church Residences.  His responsibilities included the development of CCRC campuses in Florida and Ohio in addition to negotiating and analyzing the organizations  managed care contracts.
